Yorkshire-based welded steel mesh products manufacturer, Siddall & Hilton Products, has been recognised in the Business for Calderdale Awards 2022. The 127-year old company which has grown into one of the market leaders in manufacturing high-security fencing for industrial and construction applications, has been shortlisted in the SME of the Year category.

The category celebrates the contribution of SMEs to the UK economy and recognises businesses which have delivered consistent growth, demonstrated innovative business practices which are delivered through an engaged workforce and shown ‘outstanding initiative, boldness and imagination in the enterprise, as well as sound management practices’.

The awards, sponsored by BCA, bring together businesses from the region to celebrate their achievements and shine a spotlight on those that have pivoted or gone above and beyond. The winners will be announced on 13th October at a dinner and awards ceremony at The Venue, Barkisland.

Ian Thurley, chief executive of Siddall & Hilton Products, said: “As a long-established Brighouse-based business, we are proud of our roots and the resilience of the local economy. To be recognised in these well-known awards here in Calderdale is a real honour and testimony to our continuing position as one of the largest employers in the region.

“Over the last three years since our MBO, the company has undergone a transformation. Our growth has enabled us to make significant investments in equipment and process improvements; and ensuring that our loyal 60-strong team is empowered and engaged is at the core of our vision for the future. From site refurbishment, robotics and machinery, to team training and development, there are exciting times ahead as we strive to be recognised as a world-class manufacturer. Well done to our dedicated team for helping us get where we are today – and fingers crossed for success on 13th October!”
