Tenda Nova MV12 mesh routers are by far the most beautiful devices of this type on the market.In addition, they are presented as equipment with a powerful range and cost relatively little money.Let's see how it works in practice.The set includes routers, AC adapters, one RJ-45 cable and an instruction package.I'm not a fan of what most routers on the market look like.Tenda Nova MW12 is definitely equipment for which someone has put a lot of emphasis on design.Routers are symmetrical cubes.Made of good quality, hard but light plastic.All the walls are covered with a regular texture, and the whole rests on small, rubber feet.The housings are minimalist.They only feature a LED indicating the operating status in the corner of the top panel and the nova logo on the front.The ports are hidden on the bottom panel.As a result, the cables run flat on the surface on which the router stands, which allows them to be effectively hidden.And since we are at the ports, each router has two LAN ports and one WAN, and of course a power socket.Thanks to this, we gain access to additional sockets throughout the house / apartment.I have seen traditional complaints about the lack of a USB port in the reviews?Traditionally, I will ask who uses the USB port in the router on a daily basis?Of course, our task is to unpack the box, connect the first router to the power supply, Internet source and launch the mobile application or website.It is true that the use of a smartphone seems more intuitive, but the Tenda Wi-Fi application ... is rather moderately intuitive.It fulfills its role, it is easy to find the necessary options in it, but the entire interface does not lead us by the hand as much as in the case of the competition.There are no problems with connecting additional routers.In fact, we just need to plug them in and wait for a while until they catch the signal.I took the measurements using the Huawei MateBook X Pro 2021 laptop and the Pro Speedtest application on the UPC 600/60 Mb / s Internet.The apartment with an area of ​​less than 60 m2 has the following layout:The factory UPC router has significantly accelerated in recent days (maybe some update?) And the current speed results are as follows:And this is what it looks like in the case of Tenda Nova MW12 (the main router next to the modem, the other two in room 3 and 5):The reinforced walls in room 4 turned out to be a small challenge for the set, but overall the speeds achieved are very good.The kit actually improved home Wi-Fi performance by providing higher speeds in every room.The load on the network with several devices, depending on what they were currently doing, lowered the results to 30%.Unfortunately, the ongoing renovation in the staircase and the lack of access to high-voltage sockets prevented me from carrying out the test on a larger area.The manufacturer declares a range of up to 500 m2, but on the other hand suggests placing the routers at a distance of 10 meters from each other.Nevertheless, the routers located in the apartment did not signal that they were too far apart.Tenda Nova MW12 can also be purchased in smaller packages, not in a set of three routers.How does a single device fare?The results obtained are good and more or less comparable to what the UPC router offers.The longer I look at the Tenda Nova MW12 routers, the more I am convinced that this is the most beautiful mesh set on the market.The cubes definitely catch the eye.As for the functions of the router, basically only Wi-Fi 6 support is missing. Despite this, the speeds obtained are very good.The issue of coverage is similar.Besides, we have practically everything we need here.A lot of configuration options, the ability to create security, easy switching between routers thanks to the roaming function, or prioritizing connected devices (QoS).Tenda could, however, work a bit on the mobile application, because it would definitely need more intuitiveness and a slightly more modern interface.
